Will the real Fake Steve Jobs please stay in character?

It is with some sadness that I hear that Fake Steve Jobs (dude, he invented the friggin iPhone), has been unmasked. For many months he’d been giving us the inside scoop direct from inside Apple HQ. As the iPhone hype got bigger, so did the amount of time that we spent slacking off from work to read his blog.

Some guy named Brad at the New York Times blew the lid on his identity, and he must surely win the award for party pooper of the week. I bet he’s one of those guys who tells folks how the film ends when they’re waiting in the queue. Or gives kids untrue stories about where their Christmas presents come from. ‘Boo’ to Brad.

What is possibly even more of a shame is that Fake Steve has admitted on his blog that he’s not who we want him to be. We could have ignored ‘Brad’, and put his story down as mere speculation. But now that Fake Steve has put an admission on his blog, his writing will never have the same sparkle. He should have simply denied the allegation and kept on writing.

Fake Steve R.I.P.

(but if you get back into character then in a few weeks we’ll probably have forgiven you)
